7:30am coffee is too late. No refer in room. Did not like that the only table in our room was covered with stuff for sale, had to move all of it to the floor in order to make space for our things. Only 1 bar of soap for both sink and shower. Breakfast was poor, not much to choose from.
The barrel in the room is totally impractical; there should be a table instead.
The location is wonderful--right across from Moonstone Beach, one of the first motels you come to as you cross the road from Cambria. Although the rooms have no view, they have a sitting area that overlooks the beach, so anyone can sit and watch the sunset. The bed was comfortable and the room seemed to be pretty clean.
It is such a bare bones room with no desk or chair and no available plugs to even plug in a computer without unplugging the TV or little refrigerator.
The location and they accept dogs
The room was very basic, hardly any TV channels. About the worst breakfast we've had.
Afraid their future upgrades may spoil their uniqueness.
I loved the pillows. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean. It's literally right across the street from beach access. The price is the lowest on Moonstone Beach Dr.
The TV stopped working after 1/2 hour after turning it on, not that there was anything to watch. Bring your own portable DVD player if you need entertainment in the evening. There's just nothing to do in Cambria after the sun goes down, except eat. The decor needs to be updated and a waffle maker at the breakfast area would make up for a lot. The door made a loud noise when it was opened and I'm sure my neighbors didn't appreciate it when I had to take my dog out at 5 am.
Unfortunately we did not find anything we liked as the room was in poor condition. The spa tub is broken. There was not a dresser in the room. There is not enough room to walk around the bed. They painted the cement floor slab. The manager refused to address our complaint and told us we didn't pay for a working spa tub just the fireplace in the room because they don't advertise the tubs online because they know some don't work. Do yourself a favor and pick another hotel!
The manager did not stand behind his staff who told us we had a spa tub in our room. The manager said he was new and didn't know some tubs do not work. The breakfast is cold eggs waffles and toasted bread with an assortment of jams. Do not stay at this hotel I do not believe.they have any concept of how to improve.
Fireplace and good sized refrigerator in the room was very nice - spacious bathroom.
Room was a little cramped - a narrow space to move between one of the beds and the wall to get into the bathroom, but one might say it was "cozy".. Continental breakfast was sparse - sweet rolls, coffee, juice and some cereal. We elected to have breakfast in town. Probably not worth advertising as "breakfast included", but the Inn was certainly a very good value without breakfast!
The Location close to Hearst Castle & Morro Bay
The fact the rooms didn't have Dresser or Cabinets & the Ugly Barrels as decoration. The Bathroom didn't have a Dresser either.
Buildings and rooms dated. I informed staff that the bath fan was sounding like a truck and the bearings had probably gone on it. Hot water ran out on the 2nd consecutive shower. The place needs basic upgrades.
Close to the beach. The spa tub was heavenly had enough hot water to fill it. Fireplace was nice to have. Would stay here again.
Parking was a little tight. Only 1 way in and out. Found used coffee pack in coffee pot. Floor could have been cleaner, found empty sugar paks on floor and behind barrel. ripped bed skirt but over all very nice
Across from the beach. Room was clean.
A little stuffy in the room. While air conditioning is not necessary, a celing fan would be nice to circulate the air. Maybe safety bars on the windows so you can leave them open at night for air. When I arrived, the clerk wAs texting and seemed bothered that I interrupted. she did her job, but not very friendly or welcoming. It was more like, "Whatever".
the location was perfect, right at the beach and close enough to town.
the room felt as though the owners did the work themselves. the floors were uneven, decorating was hit and miss. the breakfast was ok, but could have used alittle more like fruit or eggs; instead of just cereal and toaster waffles.
Location, location, and location! There is an oceanfront "bridge" connecting the two buildings that is furnished with Adirondack chairs. Most of the motels on Moonstone Beach lack outdoor seating with a view unless you book the most expensive room, so this area is a huge plus for me. I also appreciate new bed and bedding, with sheets on both sides of the blanket, the free WiFi, the flat screen TV, and the in-room fridge and coffeemaker. What has been done so far by the new owner is a drastic improvement already, and I absolutely would stay there again assuming the value pricing continues. It is not on the same level as many of its neighbors, but given its location and the basic cleanliness and comfort of the room, I was really pleasantly surprised.
The flooring is bizarrely uneven! This could actually be dangerous for an older person. I would have appreciated a microwave in the room, and some counter space and/or drawers, in addition to the customary guest-services type binder, but I'm hoping this inn is a work in progress, having been sold to a new owner fairly recently.
The location is the inn's major attraction. In addition, compared to the other hotels in the area, the price was very affordable.
Frankly, the room's renovation fell flat. The bare concrete floor wasn't at all attractive (there was carpet around both beds), the toilet was squeezed too close to the jacuzzi and there wasn't the advertised dvd unit or much of a view from the windows of the room. The room's furniture consisted of recycled oak barels and outdoor Adirondack chairs identical to the chairs outside of the room; the decor was cheap and not inviting.
